  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. The English tend to use center height, as a reference point, while the US practice was to use the maximum swing that the lathe could deal with, but you have to watch the numbers for what it will actually swing over the carriage! Some manufacturers touted the maximum diameter disk the lathe could swing over the bedways or in the gap,, if so equipped, while some used what the machine could swing between centers... www.lathes.co.uk is a pretty decent reference if you are shopping! They cover just about everything that might ever interest a hobbyist, or Farm Shop kind of size range.
 
So 13x30 probably, gap bed, gap is there on tray, imperial and metric threads, hardened ways, gamet bearings, tailstock, 2.0625 bore, my guess would be 1200 top rpm.
