Yes I think there is some magic sizing rules with stuff like this. Might seem OK by eye, but the fingers have their own opinion. Like classic lathe handles just have a feel & proportion about them.
In hindsight I went too deep on my Spindexer knob. I think smaller diameter endmill recess & more of them would be better
