Cheap small parts storage

I seem to go to extremes; although most of my hardware is in these (was going to use a link to my original post, but those pics were part of the issue we had a while back):

I still have a drawer filled with these:

Did you buy the shelving that all the containers are in or is that something you made for them? I need a solution like that for hardware.

So just in case anyone is planning to order, there are 2 different size drawers. There's the 18x12x3 and the 12x9x2. I have both sizes. Originally I was one 18x12 short, ie, I had a spare slot, and I had 2 extra 12x9 cases. So I ordered 7 18x12's, a 6 slot rack, and 4 of the 12x9's and a 6 slot rack. Apparently I missed that the first 6 slot rack was for the small drawer cases, so now I have 6 18x12 cases with no home, and an empty 6 slot12x9 rack. They don't make a 6 slot 18x12 case, so to make it all work, I had to order 2 of the 4 slot racks, 2 more 18x12 cases, and 6 more of the 12x9 cases. I shouldn't ever need any more space for the rest of my life.

Wall 'o Hardware!

They are a great way to organize and store fasteners. Mine are tack welded to the adjacent cabinet and the tool box that sits on top of them. I have one extra unit that is on my to-do list to incorporate elsewhere.

I had a whole van wall of these back in the day... way too expensive for me now. The lids always bent too which pissed me off.

Oh, I get you now. You created a BA with this specific vendor. I'm learning to inquire about this with vendors. Often it doesn't cost anything, and/or better shipping/billing options, and/or no minimum purchase amounts (although some may review annual account activity from time to time & show you the door). Did you have to provide a GST# ? That can be the clincher

I thought you were inferring Amazon BA, which I've also heard of. But that's a different animal.

sorry for side track

I did not have to give Lawson my GST number.

I also have Amazon Business Prime, and I use it a ton, but lately I have been doing more price comparisons and for fittings, wire terminals and stuff, Amazon isn't the place to shop. Its just been convenient.

For example, the other night I noticed I was running low on some wire terminals, A few clicks and they were ordered. A few days later they were here. As a mechanic shop, I need to have that stuff on hand. Sometimes its late on a weekend, so its easy to order on Amazon. A lot of the stuff, hardware wise is poor quality though, and that is no good.

Now that I've found that quite a few of Lawsons prices are competitive, and everything from them is top notch stuff, I think they will be my first stop.

Purchased from Bolt Depot (were cheaper when I bought most of them and they do have a price break when ordering more than one):

I also bought some of their boxes, but Plano 3600’s are a perfect fit, cost less and have adjustable dividers.

I need to build a cabinet for all the plastic bins i have, cotter pins, key stock, etc, etc. Pain in the ass routing thru all of them to find the one you need. They are just stacked up on a work bench now.
