That's the same as my early '80s BusyBee. It's a Taiwanese RongFu . Mine needed the guide "slot" to be filed to get a square cut. That took me a couple of years to find the problem. The rest of the upgrades were basic machining.

On my to do list are hydraulic downfeed, then I can do sheet metal, and a coolant flush . The last own made a table for vertical cuts.

I have the same machine and it would always want to throw a blade if it stalled, mostly when I was using it to cut sheet metal standing up. I took off the drive wheel and put a 2 degree taper towards the ridge on the drive wheel and it has been fine ever since. I was really thinking of selling it but now it works so good I need and excuse to spend money on a new one.

I cooked the motor when mine stalled. Wish it had thrown the blade.
