Anybody own or have experience with a chainsaw operated winch? There are of course a few commercial units available but I'm thinking I might enjoy making one myself utilizing an old chainsaw. I'm thinking a hand operated winch in the 1000-2000lb category with appropriate gearing to the chainsaw. One of the bigger challenges I think will be gearing the 6000rpm of the chainsaw down to a useable rpm for the winch.

I have an old John Deere/Remington chainsaw that I resurrected and was going to use as a saw but I just buggered the clutch on it and am unlikely to find parts for it so am thinking of ways to repurpose it.
