I Tried, It Broke

I have as much interest in sports as I have in diving into a pool of boiling pooh, but this is amazing.

Canada’s women's rugby beat England 24 to 21 in Toronto. First loss for England in 4 years and 42 games.

If you want to see true sportsmanship, search for the video of the two teams shaking hands and hugging after the game. I really hope both teams found a big enough bar and all shared a couple of rounds of Guinness and Molsons.

I would agree with your first point and the concept of sportsmanship.
Our girls were divers, an individual sport, but they would dive against their own record and not each other. A hand out of the pool, big hugs after a wipe out, and generally cheering on your competition started at the beginning and carried on through provincials, nationals right up to the major international meets. It was really nice to see and personally I'm prouder of my kids for that than the medals.

The most brutal game grade 8 introduced us to was pushball.
Picture a Soccer field with your basic 2 teams and the goal is to put the ball into the others net simple right? Now picture a ball that’s a good 6 feet in diameter and both teams pushing sometimes it is lifted above the players but mostly on the ground slowly moving towards the goal now you have your team pushing on your back and you find your feet no longer are touching the ground as you go up and over landing on the other team as the ball rolls over you only being able to stand after your team has trampled you into the dirt!
Dam it was fun glasses broke, they stopped it shortly after it started and we never played it again!

I played a lot of sports but I found rugby to be the most brutal on the field and most friendly at the end of the match. Rugby songs and beers together were the highlight of the day.
My Son played Rugby when he was younger so did his Wife.

Played rugby when younger. Loved it. Am surprised how much I now enjoy watching it as well. Got to admit, it seems the women’s league players use more strategy than brute force as the guys do. 😎
