Many years ago (think 1970s or 80s) I had a 1x42 sander/grinder made by, I think, Rockwell (Canada - not the US Rockwell/Delta). It had an additional wheel on a bracket to allow inside finishing.
The major feature was the motor: instead of a separate induction motor it used a "portable drill style motor" (series wound, brushes and all). It could really hog off metal but it was loud!
I am interested in the actual brand, model number, user manual etc. Thanks

Hi:

Rockwell Canada made several 1X42 sander models. The one I have has a (screaming) induction motor and a stamped steel table:

It is a model 31-910. Very compact footprint with the motor in the base. I never found a user manual specific to this model.

Aside from the loud motor, the other problem with this model is that drive wheel and top idler have a 'tire' (maybe urethane?) surrounding a plastic wheel. Both tires cracked or broke on my machine. There is a guy in the USA that makes replacement wheels but they are kinda spendy.

I've gotten a different 1X42 (Viel) so the one above could use a new home. I could give you a good deal! Located in Oakville, ON.
