  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Calgary Facebook: 14x40 Lathe and Kent Mill

I *think* Kent were a Taiwanese brand. If so, about 4000-5000 dollars, depending on condition, inspection, etc.

What's everyone think that lathe would be worth in the real world? 12.5x31, 3ph, no steady/fallow/4jaw, late 80's/early 90's gear head

@phaxtris values like that are *very* subjective.

When new those machines were not top-of-the-line, but they were pretty pricey when new. Cutting through the BS, given the recent rise in lathe and mill orices, somewhere between 3000-3500. [on reflection: 2500-3000] The only assumption here is that all the necessaries are included for all the thread cutting an all the feedrates. If they are missing those change gears, reduce the value by about 700.

I hope this helps

So 500 - 1000 here in Ontario?

Just kidding! ;)

Probabaly free in Ontario!

I managed to get through to buddy, lathe is now in my garage to the tune of 2250+GST

If anyone is interested in that milling machine it looks clean, 208v, power feed on x and y, some msc collets, boring head, guy seems reasonable his number for it was 6500...they need it gone however, I think if someone showed up with 5k it would be yours, forklift on site to help with loading...but bring help, buddy isn't experienced moving equipment

Nice. Glad someone got it for a reasonable price.

I knew the guy that used to run that equipment years ago , , he retired and late last year he passed away , he was a very skilled , talented career machinist and a hell of a nice guy , he taught me lots.
