The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Building Michel Uphoff's Magnetic Indicator Stand (Build Along?)

TorontoBuilder

Sapientia et Doctrina Stabilitas
I'll be making a copy of Michel Uphoff's magnetic indicator stand. Who wants to build along with me?

His work was inspired by Robin Renzetti's and Stefan Gotteswinter's indicator stand improvements.

Download the PDF plans,

and watch the build videos below. Specifically watch video 3 to find out how to access the 3D model files.

I have a Fisso indicator holder. I always thought that Noga was good. The Fisso is amazing! Happy to add its design virtues to your project.

It looks cool. I think a build-along is a great idea, but not that particular project for me. I have a few sizes of Noga mag bases so I don't really need that kind of model. (Side note, I have touched a Fisso once, they are beautiful.) I can see other uses for a powerful mag base though, so that's intriguing. I have some surface gage & other measurement related projects in the CAD hopper, but I'm staying focused on rebuilding this TCG until its off my workbench. There are glimpses of light at the end of the tunnel. Or was that just the embers of another helmet fire?

Michel makes magnetic chucks too... very handy for more than just surface grinders
