Seems expensive at $900? I'm guessing thats an 18x24 based on the size of the checks on teh checkerplate. Unknown initial grade (assume it was an A when new) and current condition. New starret black granite seem to be in the 2k region for a A grade, no?

You can buy a brand new Mitutoyo 18X24 from Skinner for less than 700$ (I think it was 559 lat time I asked). A grade. Why not buy new?

like if it was 100$, well, then that's different...

Dabbler beat me to it - you can get granite plates new for decent money or used at auctions for rather low price.
