Nonetheless, this is a machine worth looking at. How worn are the ways? What is broken?

Being a Bridgeport Pulley Drive, there would be parts everywhere for it.

It is in Hamilton. At a grand, it's worth a drive to go look at it.

The parts alone might be worth a grand too.
 
Really?, its a rust bucket. Unless you want/need to learn machine rebuilding it should be a pass. You can't & shouldn't move anything on it before taking it to pieces.

Doesn't look like more than surface rust, dust, and chips on my phone but if it is as bad as you say, I'd be out too.
