  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Hello everyone!

Semi-retired (means busy all the time...) translator/organic orchadist. Finally will have the time to play with my lathe, a Walcott that is probably 100 years old.

Hope to get into aluminium casting soon...

Bienvenue, ami, profite du voyage!

[OK, my High School French only got me so far – thanks, Google]

Already said hi, but a big welcome from an Ontario farmer too!

Nice looking lathe!

I am not fluent in French but I can manage and have very little trouble reading it. There are quite a few other members from Quebec.

Enjoy the forum!

Another Bonjour from Vancouver Island! What do/did you grow? We grow strictly for our own use, but have several types of apples, cherries, berries, and plumbs. I was involved in the Natural Food Coop in Montreal in the early '70's. Spending more time in the garden than in the shop so far this year...

Welcome Francis, the Walcott is a beauty. Did you do the work?

Tony at lathes.co.uk may be interested in some pictures for his site, he only has catalogue pictures and no actual machine pictures.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I cheated. The picture of the lathe is when I bought it. The paint is no longuer spotless and the whole machine is, well, quite dirty...

I will post more info on it in the proper forum.
Cheers!

What was the name of that coop?
