Thanks for posting this, would be interested in playing with one and see if any advantage over my bog standard Record vises.
A tool store near me has a 4" vise of similar design to this one. I've messed around with it and it's pretty cool. Since it has a gib for the movable jaw, you can really dial in the play to exactly what you want, and if you're very space limited it'd probably help since the projection out past the bench doesn't increase with the size of work you're holding (and is overall less than a typical bench vise of the same jaw width), but the impression that I got was that you get less overall capacity compared to a standard vise of the same jaw width. I also suspect that it wouldn't be as strong as a standard vice of similar jaw size.

I'd kinda like to get one, but I don't think I'd pay much of a premium for one over a standard bench vise.
