Product Band file

Product
Boy I guess maybe I should try one someday. I have never thought they would be very useful in the shop but it clear by user comments many think they are worth their price. I figured there was nothing so fine in my shop that I couldn't get with an angle grinder or bench belt sander.
Kinda where I'm at. I've seen the PA pneumatic ones on sale, thought about it, then went, "Nahhhhh."

I can't comment on the knock offs, but I do like my Milwaukee belt sander that identifies as a band file. 😛 Combined with the 1/4" 90° diegrinder they make a pretty decent pair. Just incase you want to spend even more... if I can do it, you can too, we have great faith in you.😉

We'll see how it is, hopefully for my use case (infrequent) its good enough.

That is hard to resist. Great tool. If you are a DeWalt guy then it looks great. I like the Dewalt tools but - My preference for a band file is the smaller, lighter M12 and i think the reverse feature is a big plus. Here are my only V20 tools:

The die grinder was my first V20 because i liked its features over the M18. I included this pic because my V20 3” mini saw has a reverse feature. I often use that feature so I expect that the reverse feature on the M12 band file will be a valuable & useful feature.

PS: If you have M12 - then you might be interested in the battery I purchased today.

On special at Home Depot this month at $28.99 about 1/3 the regular price.

Looks like a drive to Home Depot is in the cards. I got into M12 tools a long time ago and learned that their early batteries were crap. But I loved the sml size format so much that I stuck with them. Eventually they fixed the battery problems. Now I truly love the M12 tools. But I could use a few more batteries.

I'm sorta locked into 3 ecosystems now. Makita 18, Dewalt 20, and Milwaukee 12. I suspect Milwaukee 20 might be in my future too but I am not jumping onto that train any time soon.

Looks like it was discounted for Prime week last November and again in June...

Even a low of 300 isn't exactly seductive. Half that would be getting there.

I got a smoking deal on a cordless snap on drill, found a cheap charger, and did some horse trading for a new battery.... if I was a smart man I'd either trade the lot or sell it all to stay with Milwaukee

Not that Milwaukee is best, just as everyone says on here once you get a couple tools and batteries you're kinda locked in that direction

But the snap on drill is pretty and compact so I'm on the fence, plus I don't have much invested

I kinda "get" the locked in mindset, and was like that with my makita tools for a long itme, but it's not against the law to buy tools of different brands, and have different chargers and batteries.....At last count I have Makita 18vlxt and 12v stick (not cxt), Milwaukee m18 and m12, Hitachi 12v. Sure, takes up a bit more room for another charger and battery storage, but it's not really a big hassle or inconvenience. One of the big benefits is that I can take advantage of deals in either brand when they come available, instead of just waiting on say a deal on a certain m18 tool, while watching deals on comparable lxt ones come and go etc. Milwaukee offer tools that makita don't, and visa versa. Personally I MUCH prefer Makita tools and batteries, but got into m18/m12 because of good deals and tools that Makita doesn't offer. M18 battery release buttons suck ass though......
