Just messing around. I have some forthcoming articulating arm projects coming up so made a tester. The ball is 20mm diameter. Stem is 10mm OD to fit a CF tube ID. The lugs hold M4 screws which grip the ball amazingly well, maybe the 3DP striations help a bit. I probably will increase the infill density on final print to give it some strength, but so far so good. I've seen some online models where a knurled nut squeezes down on the socket but that involves threads & whatnot.

Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Cool. I just bought some large steel balls to make a bunch of universal welding/fab table fixtures, and I like your socket design much better than what I was going to do....I may have to take some inspiration from it.....
