  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Boley made sone great tools. To be anything like a decent set, the kit above, really needs around 75 collets, a full set from 1-50, and at least a few spare 50's, and duplicates of a few along the way. The collet number is the size in decimal Millimeters. #1, is .1 of a mm, up to 50, which is 5.0mm. #50, is commonly used as a holding collet for a long assortment of other tooling that is designed to be held in the 5mm chuck, for jewel replacements, pivot drilling and the like. Eg: you don't want to be caught short, when the work you are holding in the collet at one end of the lathe, just happens to match the standardized shank diameter of the pivot drills you have...
