Face to face interactions are required. Please report suspicions to the forum admins. Stay Safe - anyone can get scammed.
  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I'm confused by the location. Posted under Oakville/Halton ON, labelled as Lucasville NS, but the map shows it in Quebec???

With all the bogus location info, I'd worry that it is a scam of some kind. A hard 'no' even at that price.

This is why I do not like buying anything of value through say etransfer far away. Cash in hand and pick up right away.

It cannot be a scam if its sitting in front of you and you are picking it up. Unless I guess its stolen. But I would find it strange to have "hot" shaper. They do not seem to be item one would steal - but I could be wrong.

If the recipients are *not* set up for etransfer automatic deposit, then you can give the password to your agent who is picking it up. Did that for the First, worked well, easy escrow. You only have to trust your agent not the be in cahoots with the prospective thief. If you're at that stage you likely have deeper problems.
