I'm seriously seriously interested in these mills. I actually only want one, but don't know if they'd sell just one. I only want one and am only interested because I have a perfect W12 Golay-Buchel spindle to fit this mill that is 220v. I really want the tooling because I currently have none.

But I expect based on the sellers other priced items that they want the very top range in price for what are currently not that great machines.

Also, I'm not in cranbrook and can't go take a quick look. I can't vet the seller or machines very well either, and I can't prepare the machines for shipment via truck to Toronto.

But if I got these I could refurb both, and then I'd be able to sell one of these and my other swiss mill along with W12 to Er16 adapters.
 
The only reason I have the Sharp mill is because I was dumb enough to make an enquiry, having said that I'm very glad I did.

You won't know cost or if he can ship unless you ask.

Oh I asked to be sure.

Actually I didn't ask about a price, I asked for a tooling inventory list, and better pics that show the two machine bases and parts in view so I could tell there were two complete machines. I asked if they could palletize the mills and have them ready for pick up by transport company.

I asked if they'd be open to showing a "local" acquaintance the machines while the local person was on live stream with me so I could view and ask questions live, if things progressed that far.

If they do then I'd have to find a willing local, discuss purchase with SWMBO, get shipping quotes and then proceed to negotiations in earnest. So just a few hurdles to pass.

Does anyone else want an Aciera F1?
 
I think this has been on here before, the seller might have posted here as well. Decent enough guy.

I've got an F1. Aciera is another of the Swiss firms that made unbelievable stuff. The only complaint is the spindle bearings - like some Deckels they used a needle bearing arrangement with the shaft being the inner race and the housing the outer race. Horrible design imo. With wear, and bearings are a wear part, the spindle becomes scrap .... or at least extremely difficult to recover from. Apparently there is a place in German that for several thousand dollars will regrind and everything and make new needles to suit the new fit.

I made my own spindle which holds certain challenges (40mm OD and you have to fit bearings between that and a 12mm collet). Wasn't cheap either, P4 matched bearings, and it took a lot of time. It would be worth it to fly out and check the spindle if you are serious about buying it ..... to avoid a big expensive mistake. I fortunately caught it during inspection and the owner threw in a Hauser jig borer to compensate for the pooched bearings. (tell me he didn't know :( ). I’ve got a lot of respect for what McGyver has accomplished here. There was an Aciera F1 with more accessories for sale a year ago in Vernon area that I seriously looked into. Now sold. The audio on the video they sent suggested issues with spindle. I did do some pricing of bearing and cylindrical grinding time to replicate what McGyver has done. (Ie, shameless copy!) Decided against as have too many projects still in the cue, including rebuilding my Deckel LKB/S that will be next after a full rescrape of a Tom Senior Major.

Long winded way of saying, yes, I’m interested in an Aciera, but has to be the right machine with a good spindle and plenty of accessories. More likely a little Myford cylindrical grinder is next on my list.
 
Moot points anyway, they're likely sold according to the vendor. He's been in discussions with two potential buyers and if so far along he basically told me not to bother thinking of buying them

super super disappointing that one of my dream machines popped up at a good price right in my back yard (hamilton) only to end up shipped across the country to the hands of a flipper who couldn't even be bothered to clean them...
 
What am I missing? The two photos you posted don't look like the same machine in the ad? Did he take down photos of the second machine?
