Gotta love this idea...though I'm sure you rural guys know this stuff like the back of your hand already. This one seems to burn much cleaner than others I have seen. But what I like is how he does it all with nothing other than the two 55 gallon drums. When I was young my dad and I made lots of different designs, but all used additional materials.

The police would be all over anyone using this near where I live. Burn permits required and only wood or field waste is allowed to be burned in my Rural Municipality. If the fire department shows up you are on the hook for the cost if no permit or illegal materials.

I know lots of areas have enacted bylaws of late. It used to be pretty common in rural Alberta.

My neighbor burns his garbage every week. I have a barrel next to his and only used it once.
