Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. 9" Utilathe Follow Rest

Ok guys - I will put the pdf up here as there is a few things others might like. @YotaBota - thanks for the info - moved the width a 1/8 for more clearance .

If you look at the two examples in the pictures I included before you will note that the real one has a triangular shape to the support and the one in the grey sort of "concept" picture has a straighter square type support - the drawing I made up has the triangular type support - but you can hack out anything you would prefer. Also the 9" is getting small so 1/4" may be a bit to thick for the support and you may want to go 3/16" The holders or stays are the same for all models as they seem to work well as 1" diameter and scale that way off the 11" Utilathe drawings.. I also drew this with changeable ends for the followers - you could make them out of PTFE, Brass, Bronze or a selection of material - even a roller bearing if you got really excited about it.

I am thinking that it may be possible to do a bit of a re-design and have the follow rest movable? see what you guys think - there may be some tweaking required in the design as I was going pretty fast - always easier to build a prototype and then correct the errors....hopefully the plans get you close!
