Any idea where I'd find a four jaw chuck for a Craftsman 12" metal working lathe and approximately what the price would be - willing to buy well used and need of extensive cleaning.

Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The chuck itself is probably the easy part. The question is, what kind of spindle is the spindle nose because that will dictate the adapter plate or the back itself if its an integrated style.
That will probably influence where you get one unless you find one that.

The OD and the TPI is what we would need...
-- I have a 1.500 X 8tpi back plate I can get to you, if it fits.
The really neat thing is that there are no hidden surprises in 4 jaw chucks - if the jaws are tights and move smoothly, then it will work fine in 99% of the cases.

What would be the thread size and spindle length holding the chuck for this Craftsman 12 " lathe?
