  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Hey guys, lets get this ball rolling, Using the date ranges @RobinHood provided choose the best weekend and Saturday or Sunday

If multiple weekends work for you choose the weekends that do

keep in mind that August long weekend is August 2/3/4, so look in your calendars

@RobinHood let me know if you see anything wrong with the dates in the poll and i will change or remove those dates

No worries I just made it today, I didn't see anyone else make one so I did
 
So you had to start a new thread to have the survey option. I was looking to add to it the existing, original thread… thanks again.

I looked for that as well, I couldn't find any way to just add it to the existing thread
 
Looks like right now the trend is Saturday, 12/July. More people prefer Saturdays over Sundays.

Ryan, perhaps we can remove the Sunday option from the survey and just leave the Saturday dates.

We can leave the survey up for another 2 weeks - say until 15/Jun - and then we’ll pick a firm date. This will give me enough time to organize things on my end.

So, if you have not yet voted, now is your chance to select your preferred date.
 
Summer gets real busy hereabouts. I won't be able to pick a date 'cause things can change at the last minute. I'll attend if it fits, if not, your gain. ;)
 
At this time I can do any of the dates, or days. Though things may change if a surgeon gets with the program, or whatever. I am looking forward to to the meet.

oddly enough i cant, its possible that once something has been voted on i cant remove or change that selection. I can set the poll to close in 14 days however

Lets just say from this point on Sundays are no longer an option, and its looking like the 12th of july

I don't know why you couldn't, but I could, so it is done. I also totally removed the Saturday and Sunday option. Hopefully, this helps you guys settle on a good date that works for the majority.

I plan to bring all my remaining stock of the super nice a smile lathe chuck keys. I need to sell them all folks so prepare for some blowout pricing. Regular price $90. I am going to have them for just $10 at the meetup. I have quite a few 3/8 but also some other sizes.

I have 10mm and 3/8. I also have 11mm 13mm 14mm 16mm

If people want to make a group buy and ship a box of a few or a lot I will facilitate. I’ll charge whatever Canada post charges it’s probably about $20-25 for one or two, three might fit in their ship box for $30ish.
 
I'd be in for an 11mm and a 3/8. I'll join in with anyone else in the area or I'm still in for the two I mentioned.

@Janger - I'll give it a couple of more days to see if anyone else local wants a key, if no response then I'll just get you to send the ones I'm looking at.

I'm not sure if CP is a good option for shipping, who knows when/if they'll go on strike.
