  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. 2002 VW Golf refurb

The dirtiest part of my 12 year old SUV is the back area has dirty water spots on the sides and ceiling and the back of the seat carpet is covered in dog hair. Intertwined into the material.

Without going into great detail, getting asked to unclog a toilet around midnight is up there on my list of things I'd prefer not to do again
Your own toilet is bad enough, when i worked on the ferry we had two public toilets. His and hers, let me tell you Hers could be just as bad as His. The fire hose got used more than once.

I have seen probably 5 cars going down the road that are completely full of garbage. Just enough room for the driver, no visibility out. Amazing they're not pulled over.
The funny part is I saw them all just a few blocks from Davids house. No dig, no joke, just sayin.

My wife's vehicle used to belong to a smoker. She used a commercial product from an automotive specialty store where you leave it in the car overnight without opening the doors. It worked.

Do you happen to remember the name of the product?
There's a product like that in the UK that I've heard works well but it's not available here. I have an ozone generator but I'm a bit leery of using it too much for fear of degrading the 23 year old plastics too much.

I've cleaned up a car that was owned by a smoker. Its a near impossible job to get all the ash, soot, nicotine etc. out of the car. I had all the interior panels off and hand washed them, using cotton swabs to get into nooks and crannies, and I think I washed the carpet outside the car at least 3 times, each time the water was gross looking but getting better. I just gave up and put it back together, was orders of magnitude better than when I got it, but was still perceptible to me as a smoked in car. Now I'm pickier and just won't buy a car that has been smoked in. My non-smoker nose won't let me and my experience tells me it'll never come out, no matter how much you try. The next time the sun shines on a car that been smoked in, the cigarette smoke smell finds its way into the air. Seat cushions, headliner, even the seat belts - any fabric or foam, as well as under the dash sound deadening, and in the heater core and vents.

My wife is not 100% certain of the name of the product but purchased it about 9 years ago from Tiger Automotive in Saskatoon. She is pretty certain it is this product because it had "b*mb" in the title:

Adam's Odor Bomb

Edit: interesting - that link is an Amerikun site but then it tries to direct you to the Canadian site which is basically Canadian Tire and I don't see the "b*mb" product in their list of Adam's product line.
