14x40 lathe looks good for just $2500

Has taper attachment too. Wonder why 3 phase motor on that size lathe, typically they would be single, no?
Does seem like a good price based on the pics.

Maybe it was used in industrial setting or is older model. There is no need for static phase converter - small 2hp / 3hp single phase motors can be had cheaply for less then or around $300 brand new from PA - no need to look too hard for a deal if you need it now - otherwise used can be had for $100 - $150.

Of course one would have to take a peek at it and figure out the condition. This is less than half of the price they want for an old 14x40 that is at Busy Bee for like years now - this is less then the price of my old lathe 13x24 (!) By now like $1000. For it not to be a deal it would have to be badly beaten up.
