1340 Acra Turn

Looks like a decent machine. Not beaten up. Has all the original accessories. Worth having a closer look at for that price. If it is close to you, might save a bundle on shipping/extra costs.

It's probably about an hours drive for me but it takes up more shop space than I'm willing to give up.

I'm waiting (and it may be a while) for a SM1120 to come on the market. My SM9 is great but I'd like the larger spindle opening and the D1-4 chuck system. As there is no panic if one comes up great, if not the SM9 will do just fine.

I looked online for the owners manual but didn't find the manual for this brand but I would guess D1-4 for the swing. New Grizzly 12&13 inch are a D1-5.

Nah its way more then 1" - look at picture - plus MT5 taper == 1.5" spindle bore. Same as in similar machines.

You're right, MT5 should make 1.375 to 1.5 ish, they also state that the TS quill is MT2 or MT3 and 33mm, 33mm would make it an MT2 so somebody is full of it.

My 14x40 Taiwan lathe is D1-4 mount / MT-5 spindle & has 38mm (~1.5") through hole. I doesn't have to be exactly this but most lathes are pretty similar. Here are some other sizes.

My 12X37 with a MT5 is 1.325 spindle bore (or so). Still adequate for most hobby things.
