    Lathe Stall

Yup, that's correct. You'll see a lot of import benchtop lathes only have the leadscrew and half nuts to do both threading and longitudinal feeding (obviously to save on cost but maybe also on space constraints). It's pretty clear to me now that SM thought that part through with their design.

    Lathe Stall

It's a 101.28940 - A 12x36 with QCGB. Imperial machine but I purchased Boston change gears to do metric threading as well. I inherited it from my grandfather when he passed away who got it for free from a friend of his. Admittedly it's not in the greatest condition but has served me decently...

    Lathe Stall

A seperate feed screw minimizes wear on the leadscrew during normal turning operations when you're feeding longitudinally. This is something I came to realize with my atlas. The wear of the leadscrew and half nut over time can cause inaccuracies when single point threading (it's a small change...

    Searching for 14" Lathe

Hahaha they have a reputation for missing tailstocks around here I guess. I'm sure anyone who knows RobinHood will know that if his lathe didn't have a tailstock he would design and make one himself that outperforms the factory original.

    Searching for 14" Lathe

Thank you! You're right... more so the tiny amount of dust collected from its drive up hwy 2 made it filthy compared to how it left @RobinHood's shop. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

    Searching for 14" Lathe

Thanks to @RobinHood I was able to pick up a much-desired lathe of mine. It's a metric lathe that he made imperial change gears for. Overall in great condition with lots of accessories including a taper attachment, steady rest, 4J and 3J, CXA tool post, DRO, and a homemade 5C collet drawbar...

    Searching for 14" Lathe

Hi all, I have a 12" atlas lathe that I'm looking to upgrade. I've kept my eyes on Kijiji/marketplace for a while without any luck - lathes get snatched up quick, or my search queries miss something. I'm fine patiently waiting for something to pop up, but I'm hoping there is a member here who is...

    Mill Drill YYC

I sent the seller a message last night within an hour of the lathe listing going live. He informed me that someone was already on their way to pick it up... Tool post grinder and taper attachment made everything more tempting.

    SM 13" Lathe - Calgary

The SM lathe was reposted last night on Kijiji by its new owner for $3250. I sent him a message within an hour of the listing going live and he told me someone was already on their way to pick it up.

    SM 13" Lathe - Calgary

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-power-tool/calgary/standard-modern-13-lathe/1567013902 Looks to be in nice condition. I really wish I could pick this up as I've been looking for one for a while, but wrong timing for me.
