    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Restoration Completed... well almost. As in any project problems arise and I will get into that in just a bit. Sadly I will have to take the machine apart. To mill the radius slot on the clapper box I removed the table from the TOS FN20 and bolted the dividing head to the front T slot face of...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

Since no one suggested that I cut holes in the belt covers it was time for paint. I sand blasted the covers behind the barn and prepared for painting. The sandblast medium was kind of course so the covers took on a textured look. Covers have been installed and I have also wired the motor...

fixing a folding shovel the wrong way (making a hirth joint)

Never on Paul Lamars news group. ( loner) Engine rebuild here I do have a directory of the complete restoration of about 20 video's of the 1985 1/2 Mazda XR7 FB I will look for the link to it. I also make my own exhaust systems from 304 Stainless Steel. This one is for a normally aspirated...

Greenlee makes good tools and when I was in the trade hole punches took a beating. The pull stud on the 1/2" conduit punch always took a beating and either stripped or broke as it was the pilot for the rest of the hand K/O punches. About 4 years ago I saw this set on ebay China for $120 USD...

fixing a folding shovel the wrong way (making a hirth joint)

I have dabbled and totally rebuilt a Rotary engine, 13B from an FC put into a 1985 1/2 FB that I spend 2 years restoring. Three rotor engines are called 20B. I was so inspired by your post I had to do some google searching and found this of the FP1 Friedrich Deckel. Small 1/12th, and...

The next step in fabricating the belt pulley covers is to add a side to the formed cover part. A bit of measuring and it is now time to form a radius on the metal side. This is a Busy Bee 3 in one metal worker. Shear, break and slip rolls. 1/8" Aluminum material for slip rolling is at the...

fixing a folding shovel the wrong way (making a hirth joint)

Thank you for the write up and additional pictures. The dividing head is identical to the one on my TOS FN20. All of the tooling? What a great find. My machine was purchased by a local Machine Shop Grimsby Machine Shop located in Winona just next to Grimsby. Purchased in 1977 for $27,000...

fixing a folding shovel the wrong way (making a hirth joint)

To be honest what caught my eye was the dividing head mounted to the face of the milling machine. In looking a bit more it appears to be a Fredrich Deckel Milling machine. Both appear to be very similar to my Tos FN20 milling machine that was made in Czechoslovakia, because being a communist...

    Ammco 6" Metal shaper

In a direct answer to your question...No. What challenge would that be? Remember, Canadian Hobby METAL workers? I am working metal into a shape by beating it into submission with a mallet. True satisfaction. TonyK. Grimsby Ontario Canada.
