    Sourcing Replacement Parts

Both Grizzly and King refer to the pulley as the "Motor Pulley" Same with the parts numbers I referenced above. My Dad lives down in the states. Guess I could get him to help if needed. But JET one I found in the states was still 150USD. So over 200 CAD landed. I just started talking with...

The Key looks fine. It is just no longer a tight fit between the stack and the motor shaft so there is now a wobble to it. I checked the motor shaft and that seems fine. The top two grooves in the stack show obvious wear to them too (Could be resurfaced but whats the point if the main fit...

It always amazes me seeing machines like that and of that size. The sheer weight, size and complexity coming together to perform a precision task. Even a delicate task. Oh? Me? No, sorry, I cant add anything of use to this thread. Cant answer any questions. Just saying I like the pictures. ;)...

Cutting speeds (Im sure again, and again and again and again.....)

Yes. This is the way I look at it. I just don’t know where to start in order to evaluate the chip :) Seems like a lot of trial and error.

Cutting speeds (Im sure again, and again and again and again.....)

I have the formulas I dont have the proper SFM per material for carbide inserts. ( https://littlemachineshop.com/reference/cuttingspeeds.php is the best chart so far.... but that says its for turning, not milling. The milling chart doesnt offer carbide)

Cutting speeds (Im sure again, and again and again and again.....)

Thanks for the info. I have heard and understand a good portion of that. (So if I have this correct you are saying use a HSS guide and X2 to start?) Let me reword my question. "Cutting speed can very for carbide from 500 to 1000 depending on coatings and material it(s) used on" How the...
