  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Finally Arrived

    I waited 6 months BUT they arrived last Monday, was a hell of a job getting them in my Basement, the Lathe weighs 236 kgs and the Mill is 168 kgs, In the process of cleaning and tuning in right now. Soooooo looking forward to Making a right old mess lol.

    Made mine out of a propane tank , my Crusible is a peice of 5 inch pipe with a plate welded to the bottom, all FREE, make lots of aluminium barstock with it, and yes i use pop cans it works for me as a hobby guy.

    I melt a lot of pop cans, i find them to be ok, they mainly vapourise if you dont plunge them into the molten metal once you have some formed, i get better results from the ring pulls,but it takes a milliion to get a decent bar size. But the best is to goto a Scrap Yard and try and get some...
