  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Power inverters

Every time I see/hear and discussion about inverters (and RV solar installations), I think of this website: https://handybobsolar.wordpress.com/inverter-issues-spring-2013/ The author may come across as "roughly forthright" but I reckon it's just his way of "calling a spade a shovel". The...

    Bridgeport Mill Tachometer

One optional input for a Mach Tach option was/is a gear tooth sensor. The application including a housing and circuit diagram can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1463559 Perhaps this information will help in your quest.

    Bridgeport Mill Tachometer

If I remember correctly, I potted a Hall effect sensor into a length of small diameter tubing for positioning and mounting. An angled hole was drilled through the “gearbox” cover alongside the lubrication way to suit the tubing and the whole lot epoxied in place with JB Weld. The (shielded)...

    Bridgeport Mill Tachometer

Not a Bridgeport but close enough ... I also installed a VFD control box with a tach on my mill some years ago. After much thought and fiddling around I ended up dismantling the head to install a hall effect sensor and magnet. (The project would have taken less time if I'd just done that in the...

    Cushman truckster

Very nice work on the restoration / re-fit! About the door handles ... they wouldn't be OEM but the first thought in my head was for RV (i.e., trailer) door handles. They are flush fitting with locks. They are suited to rather thin doors and may be adaptable and useful.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. YotaBota - No, I don't have the Avro 504 for the Gnome (not sure I'd put all that work at the risk of my flying abilities) Hanging from the shop ceiling are a number of R/C "rag-bags" though (e.g., Demoiselle, Nieuport VI and 17, dH Rapide ....). PeterT - Yes...
