  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     I stop in at the Habitat For Humanity Reuse Store. They sometimes have them there. I usually stop in once a month to see what they have and the prices are very good. I have used control cabinets from fire alarms and Alarm systems. This one has a vfd and the controls for my rotary phase converter...

    I hate that feeling of seeing something disappearing somewhere into corners of my shop. I have a cheap handheld magnetic nail sweep that I use. It wouldn't have helped in your case. I'm not sure if it saves me any time but it sure finds an amazing amount of swarf that gets missed when I do clean up.

    The trick is to find a quality brand. If buying from Alibaba I order from vendors that have sell only products that related. I stay away from the ones that sell tooling and blowup dolls.:)
