    Looking for motor

In case anyone sees this here. Am looking for a 3-5 hp electric motor for my lathe. Mostly looking for 3phase but may consider single phase if the deal is good. 220volt only. No 575/600 don’t want to run a transformer also. Shaft size isn’t a big concern as I have no pulley for it yet. Located...

Looking for motor recommendations for my lathe.

Strange a bunch of reply’s got deleted from the thread. covered a few things. 3 ph motor probably cheaper. I’m liking that idea. Could use the vfd to fine tune the rpms since I don’t have the original pulley. Gears for low speed, since torque dies off on low speed with vfd. now to find at a...

Looking for motor recommendations for my lathe.

When I bought my machines from the millwright who owned them hadn’t got a motor for the McDougall 16x30. He did have a motor for an all gear drill press he suggested could be used in conjunction with a gear box he had. I didn’t ask why not to run it on its own, not sure what his long term plan...

    Bandsaw Blade Repair.......

Yours ended up better then mine. Thin small blades on my 7” band saw lift tig clamped to a large piece of steel to soak up the heat. Works reasonably well

    Daily Shop Improvement

I’ve used citric acid to clean steel and other metal with fantastic results! 200g at the grocery store is even cheaper then the big bags on Amazon. Strips and is safe. Very handy! EDIT: oops didn’t realize there were so many reply’s already

    Measuring tools for cheap!

Yes I certainly would consider passing on the find to someone that could use it. Maybe trade for something I could use.
