Refurb of Victoria Elliott vertical head

Well against all odds (mostly due to Chipper5783 's help and friends ), I am now in possession of a U0 vertical head for my bargain horizontal mill: Since these parts may have been stored outside for a bit I figured it was prudent to tear it down and take a peak at the situation inside (...

    Heat Treating

If I had eternity off I just might get around to all the hobbies I think I have. I may have time to give you another review on the slightly upgraded version of that furnace. Will be using for casting into lost wax moulds one day. And it does go cheaper than 399. What might be more useful is...

Tips/Techniques Which printer to buy advice needed

Along with software suggestion I will put in a vote for solidworks if you are doing more technical stuff. I've only done 4 of the lessons for it, and 6 months of practicing on my own stuff. ( got a copy of their training book from a co worker ) and I've just completed my most complex part yet...

Tips/Techniques Which printer to buy advice needed

For my 3rd printer I was hoping to avoid the slow death of tinkering to make things work right and finally put the money down on a Bambu P1S. So far I've printerd at least 6 rolls of PLA with only a few print failures. All but one of these have been due to user error and learning . They are not...

CoreXY printer on the cheap end that seems to work, but not quite prime time...

I picked up a Bambu P1S a month or so back , and they aren't joking it really is print 15 min after opening box and rather well at that. There is still a learning curve as things crop up ( like why are some of my heavier prints pulling up form the bed?? ) but i will put my vote for the bambu so...

    Storage for heavy stuff?

Am just doing a quick reply from work , but what I've been using for heavier tools in a non mobile setting, is this : maybe not as tall but older the better. newer ones can hold 100 lbs per shelf at least and I'm willing to wager the older ones can do even more, they are dirt cheap to pick up...
