  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Try to match them up with off the shelf bevel gears from a company like Boston gear. Even if you have to modify them, it might be easier. Otherwise, Ebay is a good source of used parts.

    3 of mine are web strap units. They are pretty awesome. Very light, no torn up hands from cable. And super easy to unspool/operate.

    Piece of advice when assembling the pieces: Use the hot glue gun you forgot that you have and not JB Quick weld. I could have saved myself a lot of mess and wouldn't have been still painting it at 6am Halloween morning...... Total printing time was about 40 hours, but i could have trimmed...

    Peter, I have a Bambu X1 Carbon with the 4 spool AMS system. The plate was printed with Elegoo rapid PLA+ from Amazon. I also installed Fusion 360 last night. Down the rabbit hole we go.. Last week I printed a Stormtrooper helmet for the boy. All his friends were impressed.

    I printed the plate at 70% infill, so it's very strong. I'll be making a few gears with it but there's no way I will ever wear it out.

    And here it is. I added the numbers in Bambu Studio before printing. Printing out some sector arms now.
