  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year.     The best fit I got with my thread pitch guages is 10 TPI. The threads don't quite go up into the "peak" but the sides of the thread lines up perfectly

    I tried a few different thread pitch guages and can't determine what it is. Yes, everything was tight. One thing I did notice was the large amount of fine swarf in the threads, almost like steel wool. I don't see any damage on the lead screw threads but the threads in the nut are very shallow...

    I just have a cheap (Banggood) set that work ok but have a few very dull areas from me being a bit aggressive on the feed rate. Speed is definitely a factor for the chatter.

    I only have a couple of Accusize 1/4" carbide tool holders for my lathe but they seem to be really decent. I've even used one in a fly cutter and it worked well. I'd have no issues buying more of their products
