Ya, but you are not getting ripped off. When I was a boy, a 2x4 was a real 2x4. But they were rough sawn and full of slivers. Century homes around here are all built with real 2x4s - often cherry, walnut, oak, and maple. These hardwoods don't shrink much over time. In the 50s and 60s, they...

Sounds to me like the system that allows the motor to start without fighting the high startup pressure isn't working.

Yup, one leg only. The exception to this is circuits with a neutral and unbalanced loads. ^This

Welcome to Westwood Metalworks, What is he building in there?

All kidding aside, I practically lived in crocs for several years outside of work. I developed some pretty bad problems with my feet but didn't associate them with my feet. I knew about it, but it wasn't me who said it here Trev. I believe it was @PeterT - another fellow like me who likes to clutter up his brain with a lot of useless stuff. ;) While that is true, I have no beef with it all. Yes, the speed of light is a physical constant that very few can measure...

Same for whitetail, and the love struck buck following her not too far back as well.

I see, that changes things. I personally doubt that event had anything to do with national standards adoption but rather just the desire to maintain international "standards" of all forms in the national depository of the time. My guess is that any references to it as a turning point are just...

If it did, I don't remember it. My boss was one of Canada's Metric Committee Members at the time representing the entire Auto Industry in Canada. I did a lot of the grunt work for him so I am very familiar with what happened. I don't ever remember that happening. What I do remember is that...
