    Solid Toolpost Turret

I made a similar post, but used six securing bolts instead of just the two that were used for the compound slide. The six bolts were long with just enough countersink to put the heads below the surface. I used spacers between the six nuts in the cross slide so that each bolt could easily find...

Wild M250 long focal length microscope

Unfortunately, I do not have the transformer. I have used a variac to power the light temporarily. I have four spare bulbs though, 12V 50 watt.

Wild M250 long focal length microscope

Good point, one I was not aware of. I may have to go to US eBay where they are asking a lot for them. Mine would look cheap.

It is 220 three phase. I have a vfd wired to...

    Any solutions to my problem?

The 1/4 shaft is better, no doubt, but notice that the cable is in a straight line, and the tension above and below is balanced when not in motion, adding no bending moment to the shaft. When travelling, the difference between the top and bottom segments of the cable are only the small torque...

    Any solutions to my problem?

I am almost embarrassed to show you this, but it has worked so well for many hours over many years that I guess it is worth having a look at. The cord from the spring, around the pot knob to the foot pedal is a very fine nylon covered? multi-strand cable, but lots of other things should work. I...

A fly cutter, and some questions

Whether cutting in normal rotation or reverse rotation, will your holder keep the cutting edge of the tool on the radius line of the spindle rotation? I don't think the same grind can be used for rotation in both directions. The cutting tip needs to be on the radial line and all the tool angles...

    Surface grinder wheel hub

No, the washer just has two tabs on the ID that engage two slots on the hub. I am leaning to the removable loctite approach, as I expect that I may never have to remove the nut once I true and balance the wheel.
