Replacement Gear for Craftex CT089 13x24 Lathe

@Susquatch Yeah I'm not sure, seems a bit out of place to me too. Its the only plastic gear in the lathe, all the change gears are steel too. I just got a response back from busybee this morning and they confirmed they do not have this part as a replacement anymore, so steel gear it is!

Replacement Gear for Craftex CT089 13x24 Lathe

Ahh I think those are just leftover machining marks from when the gear was made. I've had success printing change gears before, but as this gear transmits power directly to the spindle, I think a 3D printed gear would detonate pretty quick lol. For how much work it was to get the thing out...

Replacement Gear for Craftex CT089 13x24 Lathe

The side away from the hub is the original surface. The Hub side is the side that was bored out from the Key when the gear stalled by the axle kept turning lol.

Replacement Gear for Craftex CT089 13x24 Lathe

Hello All, I have sheared some teeth off this plastic gear in the drivetrain of my craftex CT089 lathe. All the gears in the lathe are metal, except for this gear which is the one responsible for driving the spindle. Fortunately it performed its job adequately and gave up the dust before...

    Excello 602 Power Drawbar

I bought a very similar looking one off ebay as well, and have been loving it. I think you'll find that the power draw bar is much quicker then swapping ER32 collets out, so if anything, you may feel you wasted money on the ER32 collets ;)...

    Xyphota's bicycle related projects

Frame building updates: I've finished a disc brake mount welding fixture, and I decided to change what dropouts I am going to use. Brake mount welding fixture: This is a shameless re-creation of the this tool: https://farrframeworks.com/farr-tools/le-disco . Bicycles have a standards crisis...

    DRO install on Myford ML7R

I've been enjoying it! I think I would purchase it again if I were to do it over, no real complaints so far.

Reasonable price for a Myford Lathe

As a former ML7 owner, I would not recommend. The small motor, laughably small through bore spindle (~5/8”), and max RPM of 1250 makes it pretty slow to do work with and sometimes challenging to get a good finish. The ML7R or the super 7 atleast have a slightly bigger motor and a max RPM of...

CA-AB T-slotted Alumimum Framing - Any economical source in Canada?

Looking for some t-slotted framing, Mcmaster-Carr seems to be cheaper than what I can find online so far. Is there anyone in Canada who sells it a reasonable price? Even better would be local to Calgary. I know metal supermarkets doesn't stock it.
