  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. I think it did briefly, but not any longer for me. Sorry I didn't see that this post was older. Hope your installation went well.

    Reminder to microchip your pets...

We tried powdered broth, he wouldn't drink it. We often have lots of water/juice after cooking so it is not in short supply. We have started to freeze it when we have too much so we will always have something.

    Mill dro

I would recommend making a small block for a drill and tapping guide so you get the holes and taps straight. That is what I did with a small (maybe 1.5" x 3" x0.5" thick) piece of aluminum. You can hold it in place by hand or a clamp when you need both hands. I used it start the drill and the...

    Mill dro

My mill/drill did not have a hole in the casting behind the spindle like the others so I searched out an alternate solution on the internet. Mine is not as nice as what I found, but it works. The X and Y are modelled after @DavidR8 install on his previous mill/drill.

    Reminder to microchip your pets...

    DavidR8's shop shenanigans

Nice score. Put it on casters for easy moving around the shop. Never hurts to have another surface to collect things.

Machine Not sure I need a drill press anymore

I have a tool cabinet on casters under my drill press table and rolled up to the column. I find it works well to hold drill bits, etc in the drawers, provides a handy place to put things while working on the drill press and if I need more travel for the table from the quill I can move the...

    Hole saw kit recs

The two pins saves you time trying to get the hole saw off the arbor after it tightens on with use. I had a hole saw kit, from can. tire that I would use when I needed too, just a thread on arbor. Then I bought a bunch of hole saws with arbors (that had the two pins) from a garage sale...
