  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Machine Not sure I need a drill press anymore

@skippyelwell - that is a great Drill press. I have a POS trademaster 17” that needs a rebuild beyond bearings - like spindle and related parts. BUT!!! I still use it for drilling fast fabs or wood or something that doesn’t require precision. If I had a decent one I would use it for setting...

    Show us your shops!

@DavidR8 - I stopped F’n around with cabinet backs for the shop a while back. Mostly because I lined the shop with plywood or OSB so.. who cares? Not a kitchen- LOL. I typically make a brace piece for the top shelf and then screw an 1-1/2” strip below the cabinet to support it. Add some...

Product Vevor BS-0 Dividing Head - review ish…

Ok, so some things got better. After removing the indexing plate there is the ability to engage or disengage the worm drive. This allows you to remove all the backlash as well as run the head with a gearing system (if you wanted). As I mentioned earlier I ground back the edges of the clip...

Product Vevor BS-0 Dividing Head - review ish…

Rebuilding a 10" Standard Modern Utilathe

@Susquatch : so, if you’re too high or too low you will plow off a bit more on one side of the gear tooth or the other. - perhaps a couple thou would not matter much, but the cut being true helps in other ways: I forgot to lock the quill at the first cut and was a tad low - well, that resulted...
