    Accusize Rocks

That's good to know that they were that good for you as far as customer service is concerned. Everything I've gotten from them was plenty good for my level of work so never needed support, but it's good to hear they actually offer support! Especially with the far fewer options of...

    (email) contacting YouTubers

I'm not sure why some YouTubers don't have a public email address to use. Honestly I think getting to hear from people all over the world and share ideas (and sometimes stuff back and forth) is a large portion of the fun. I suppose that, like a lot of groups of people, there are varied...

Tool Post Locking Lever - Where to Buy?

When I first started watching John Mills ("doubleboost" on YouTube) years ago, I liked his idea of a locking handle, similar to the one in the top picture. I made mine out of scrap pieces on hand when I first got my lathe. It is handy but I admit that the lever itself can get to be a pain so I...

    cutter grinder idea

I'm curious to see what you come up with for modifications as I've often wondered the same thing. Considering how the machines needed to be precision setups to start with, it would make sense that modifying one should be further ahead than starting from scratch. And I totally hear you...

Not sure if this link will work but I got a return spring for my big fixer-upper drill press from these folks on Amazon...

    Hi from Edmonton

Hey neighbor! I'm out in the Grove, so you're basically a neighbor, lol. And for what it's worth, I don't roll eyes at the Smithy machines, as in the right hands they can make good parts. I have a friend down near Taber with a bigger one and it has served him well.

    Sourcing tooling

I've bought some stuff through Amazon, as well as through Accusize Tools in Ontario. In fact sometimes getting Accusize tooling through their Amazon store saves a bit on shipping. A lot of my tooling was gotten from eBay some years ago before shipping went stupid but maybe you can still find a...

    Memories

I grew up near Fort Steele and have always loved the stuff going on there. As a kid I was mostly fascinated by the steam train, the blacksmith, and the pedal-powered printing press. Then off to the General Store for old-fashioned taffy. Lots of cool stuff going on there, well worth a trip.
