  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    I am going to try milling a cut out for the spare tire. I would like to cut this free hand with a plasma cutter. But I don't have one and I would imagine you need a pretty big plasma cutter for this quarter inch steel? @Janger will your Everlast cut something like this out?

    Nope it was 3.5 inch floppy. The controller is powered by a regular 486 computer. It just has more ISA slots than a home PC. I forgot I added some cheap LED strip lights too.

    I bought that machine from a friend and delivery was included. He made that cool skid that fits in some rails welded to the trailer deck. He winched the skid into the garage with a 12v winch. The hole operation was really smooth.

    Thanks. It is pretty much ancient by CNC standards but I have gotten years of reliable use out of it so far. The only modification I have done is upgrading the floppy disc drive to a USB port.
