  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    One of mine is a Fuchs indictor set in case dated 1916 on card . Bratschi manufacturing CO out of Cleveland Ohio . Original cost $5.50 . Case was an extra 75 cents for a velvet lined . Removed from my Uncle's Fathers 1916 Union chest . This was full of old time top quality tools for those days ...

    Great ! :eek: Stel , I found an old set of Starrett sockets on their antique website . I didn't know they were Starretts but they obviously are . I have one dowstairs , the rest are still down the other place .

    Question for the Starrett surface/toolmakers gages . The Starretts were not marked until a date . What year did they start marking them , if they did ? I've probably sold 7-8 NIB gages over the years and none of these had Starrett engravings but rather had the information on the box .

    Cool ! Got a little fine feed knob . An upgrade to the 246 model . Working on the pile down here still . Once I get the roll arounds tomorrow I'll have room to make pile down the basement of all Starrett stuff .

    LOL , same here . :rolleyes: Still blowing strong down here but should be gone by tomorrow . Picking up the 2 Kennedy roll arounds in the afternoon. The chucks made it as far as my bedroom so far but I'm workin on the issue . :)

    No advantage other than not having to remove your hard jaws . The copper jaw plates just slip over the hard jaws saving time . Also , copper is softer than aluminum in most cases .

    My OEM 6" Bullet copper jaws are 1/8" thick on the wrap arounds and 1/4" thick at the jaws .
