Tool Budget DIY Scraper Advice Needed

Hey all, I want to build a scraper to learn something new. Does anyone have any experience building one from Home Depot or a paint store odds and ends or something? There must be a simple, inexpensive, quick way of getting going. If I find it meditating then maybe I'll splurge for a proper...

Homemade Toolbit Grinding Jigs and setups.

Homemade Toolbit Grinding Jigs and setups.

Carrying on from this topic, those of you who have made jigs and or setups to sharpen tooling, can you share some pics and ideas. I really want to be able to make some cutting tooling as well as repair my end mills, drill bits, etc. However I'm seeing that they're kinda expensive, like a whole second lathe or some other big machine expensive. If I put that money aside and purchased new bits and mills as I needed them, I...

If anyone has one or knows of one for sale that could somehow end up on the West Coast that would be great. I'll arrange freight if need be. I need an OCD project and am ready to move on from my current China lathe. thxs

Quick and dirty brass pour questions.

I just don't have the location to do open flames and blowers etc. I would definitely go that route if I could. I don't suppose I'd be able to melt with a mapp torch huh.

Quick and dirty brass pour questions.

I've been watching as many videos as I can find about melting brass since I made this post. I'm starting to think melting brass shavings and chips might be a dumb idea. As mentioned above the amount of dross will be insane. I simply want to melt some material for nostalgia reasons and create...
