New forum category idea - project plans?

I'm an old 2D AutoCad user from decades ago so I've looked for cheap (ie free) alternative for a while for 2D drafting and have settled on QCAD and LibreCAD

    New Drill Press need recommendations

Been busy at work and the cottage, but finally had a chance to pick up a new King KC-118FC on Friday and I had enough time to put it together before I had to leave for the cottage. I ended up not having a lot of choice as stock was limited and there has been a real lack of used stuff available...

    BB vs KBC drill bits

So I took the risk and brought some, direct from China drill bits.....terrible. So how do the KBC branded drill bits sets (115pc) compare to the BB set, I mean they look like they came from the same Chinese factory. Is there any appreciable difference? I’ve had hit and miss luck with other BB...

    Rotary Table for Craftex CX605

I have a CX612, which i think is the same size as your CX605, and a 3" RT and tail stock. The combination works pretty good for me but of course YRMV. The TAIG 4 Jaw chuck is also very good fit for it as well. I'm in the process of making an adapter plate or you can buy one from TAIG.

    hello for Nova Scotia

Right now I have a partially completed steady rest on my bench. The one that came with my lathe was too small for a 3" diameter pipe i need to turn the end on. This one is based on a photo I saw on the internet and is a welded hexagon and will have double ended arms (bearings on one end and...
