    DRO install on Myford ML7R

I've been enjoying it! I think I would purchase it again if I were to do it over, no real complaints so far.

Reasonable price for a Myford Lathe

As a former ML7 owner, I would not recommend. The small motor, laughably small through bore spindle (~5/8”), and max RPM of 1250 makes it pretty slow to do work with and sometimes challenging to get a good finish. The ML7R or the super 7 atleast have a slightly bigger motor and a max RPM of...

CA-AB T-slotted Alumimum Framing - Any economical source in Canada?

Looking for some t-slotted framing, Mcmaster-Carr seems to be cheaper than what I can find online so far. Is there anyone in Canada who sells it a reasonable price? Even better would be local to Calgary. I know metal supermarkets doesn't stock it.

    Guidance to air compressors

Ultimately I'm trying to calculate duty cycle, but I guess to be more specific I'm asking for a calculator to help me estimate each of the terms in that equation. @Janger All good points, and it may be true that running a pneumatic finger file is unrealistic in a home shop, but the pneumatic...

    Guidance to air compressors

Also, is there a calculator for estimating the effective run time of an under-specced air compressor for a given tool? Perhaps I'm not using the right search terms, but I can't find anything lol. Like for an extreme example, a 5 CFM compressor with a 5 gallon tank with a max pressure of 125 psi...

    Guidance to air compressors

So for the sake of discussion, lets assume that I've never seen an air compressor before, I just know that they suck in air, put it into a tank, and then the tank feeds various tools. I want to get an air compressor to potentially use the following tools: Finger file (Ex: 40320 Dynafile II...

Making or buying a cutter for internally-toothed involute ring gear cutting on the shaper?

This project is still probably 6 months away from starting but I am doing a bit of preliminary research. I would eventually like to attempt to cut internally toothed ring gears on my shaper. The only thing I'm not clear on at the moment is how the cutters for internal teeth differ from external...

    Favourite Youtube Channels

If you are on a desktop, make sure the video screen is the most recently clicked thing (as opposed to the volume adjust slider or something else etc.) and just press the right arrow key. If you are on an ipad or iphone, I think you can double tap on the right side of the screen to advance 10...

    Favourite Youtube Channels

I don't think you are his target audience so I'm not surprised you really don't like the channel ;). You've expressed general dislike for youtube videos in general, so I can understand why you don't like a channel that is mostly a vehicle for manual machining porn LOL. I personally am a bit...

    Hardinge lathe - $1200 - Calgary, ab

That is a pretty neat bit of kit. I have been wanting to get a horizontal mill to have a dedicated tube mitering setup for bicycles. This looks like it could work a treat! Too bad I have no space for it LOL.
