I don't know enough yet to answer your question with certainty. I had thought it was only possible to feed during the retract. I didn't know there was any adjustment to that. I was only aware that I could set the table feed direction on the little cap on the feed system. It has an arrow that...

lathe chuck (D1-5) and collets, $550,

I love my Bison 5C too. I often tell folks that I have 6 chucks but the 5C lives on my lathe more than all the others combined. Like you, on my 5C, I don't worry about repeatability. It's always within a few 10ths. Your thoughts on leaving out the 3 studs makes some sense, but if you are...

Other than cost saving, why do you think would they do that?

    Solitary Bee House

We have 2 wild honey bee hives on our farm. Perhaps more that I don't know about. The wild flowers in the hedge rows and yard are always being visited by thousands of bees. It's quite magical actually.

Are you suggesting that they dropped 3 pins?

    Spindle square

Very cool idea. I wonder how flat glass really is? My system is almost like yours but has home-made 1-2-6 blocks - 2 on one side and 1 on the other instead of cast in legs. They lift the brake disk above the vise. I don't remember exactly what the brake disk I chose cost me, but I'm certain it...

Yes, my spindle is a D1-5. But I don't think the seller knows what a D1-5 looks like. I gave it another look to see what shipping would be. But one look at one of the other photos and it's clear to me that it's not a D1-5. It only has 3 camlocks.

The chest isn't empty. It's actually fairly heavy. The problem is that Ram inertia. The other issue is the wheels. I am thinking that I'll lift the chest onto pads beside the wheels. If that doesn't work, I'll have to resort to buying or building a separate stand.

Thank you for the thought! Ya, I found some just down the street from our meetup. Considering how hard they are to find and where they were, I got really really lucky!
