How often do you sharpen your lawnmower blades?

I checked balance for the first half dozen sharpening jobs. Only once was any action required, and that was after having to do some heavy grinding to repair a nasty rock hit. As long as I’m just sharpening, and I take the same amount off each side, they’ve never needed any balancing. I have...

    Air Compressor: 7.5 HP, 25.1 CFM @ 175 psi

Good info. The risk is the 5 to 6 times in-rush current at startup. I think a person might beat that with some kind of soft start system?

    Air Compressor: 7.5 HP, 25.1 CFM @ 175 psi

I don't think I can attach a link, but there's potentially a heck of a good deal on a compressor at BCauction.ca auction number: A248776 It's a Speedaire, Air Compressor: 7.5 HP, 25.1 CFM @ 175 psi Too big for my needs (and power supply), but for someone with the need and power, this could be...

Myford super 7 metal lathe, Pincher Creek, $3000

Can’t tell for sure, but are those gears stacked up to the left, and above, the lathe dogs in the ‘accessories’ picture? Looks like a half dozen of only 2 sizes though?

    Tool Soldering iron recommendation

Much as I like the idea of a nice Weller with digital temperature control, they're a bit pricey (I know, relative term) for my needs. I picked this up a few days ago at Princess Auto... 40W, pencil style. Directions say to use upper end of the lowest range for tin solder, midway through...

Centering Work in a 4-Jaw Chuck

I'm late to the party, but can relate to comments about which way is high... I usually reach in and manually stroke the dial gauge to confirm which direction is high. Takes a second and provides instant confirmation. I also like the idea of leaving the 4J in the machine so I have to practice...

    Instrument cluster

About TIG welding, a little of my own amateur experience ----- studio construction overview

Nice work! I’m always surprised at just how much time it takes to put together something like your shelves. I see it and think, I should be able to throw that together in no time. Meanwhile, weeks later…. I’ve been practicing my TIG welding, but have a long way to go. Every once in awhile...

    The little snowblower that couldn't

Interesting. This must be a common problem. I just finished fixing mine last week! I noticed I had a problem when I pushed down on the handlebars to lift the auger housing, and the housing didn’t come off the ground. This whole housing is too thin by a factor of at least two. This is...
