  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Roboforming

I hope people are reading this area of the forum, and let me appologize if the channel in this link is already featured somewhere on the site. An extremely unique and interesting video on how one company is forming sheet metal without dedicated fixed tooling.

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

That was one of the first things I did. They took a look at these two pictures and threw their hands up. They would have to open the motor to figure out where the wires go, but I should be able to do that by metering the existing terminals (which is what I think I will do). From what I can...

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

Here is what I am seeing. I have to say, attaching a pic with this site's software is fantastic. 6 wires as you would expect with any dual voltage motor, but what makes it hard to do with just an ohmeter is that it has to be able to reverse. To make matters worse, it is cap start and cap run...

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

That That is the manual I have. Does not have same labelling on wiring, does not show the motor connection board with 110 to 220 jumpers, does not identify the rotary switch terminals (VERY different from the 4 x 2 set of contacts). I have mapped the rotary switch so no mystery there, it has...

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

thanks. There are several versions of that manual on the interwebs, but this is the only one I have seen the covers the connecting wires to motor - but of course very different for single phase to get reverse rotation and dual voltage.

Tool Need some sheet metal tool parts

Thought I should update this thread. Found a bent stub shaft in the end of the member that rotates the clamping mechanism for top clamp. Made a tool to straighten it in place - works well now. Had to drill and tap leaf handle hole and make new lever. Also made some support bars missing from...

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

Thanks, will call them tomorrow. Hope it has same wiring. Data plate in English (have lots of Chinese friends if needed to sort translation, but nothing to translate).

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

Beautiful manual and no question this thing is a clone, but wiring quite different. I have the correct manual and its wiring diagram shows 4 wires going to the motor, but no ident as to which wire is which wire. Similarly instead of a rotary switch with terminal numbers it just shows a set or...

Who Sold or Imported Zay machines?

The motor ID plate IS the source of incorrect/insufficient information. I have mapped the rotary switch but without being able to identify the 4 wires the do motor CW and motor CCW can't do those connections. It clearly shows how to switch the windings from parallel to series (i.e. 110 to...

    Metal Lathe $7500 Cambridge, ON

'LARGE" is not a size. You will get a lot more interest by finding the brand name, swing over the bed, swing over the cross slide, gap or not, distance between centers, electric voltage, motor HP, chuck size, other tooling included, and on it goes. When you say "accurate" what do you mean...
