The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Turnmaster 15x50 lathe, Mcdougall auction, Headingley, MB

Nice Colchester clone! It sounds ok in the video and it's 220 volt. If I was in the market for a lathe I would be watching this auction.

Tool Anyone own a metal cutting circular saw?

It's the model made specifically to cut metal and has a max speed of 4250 rpm. Uses 5-3/8" metal cutting blades. It has a built in chip collector that actually works pretty good, picking up most of the small chips it creates and it's easy to empty after each cut. The cut piece is not hot after...

Tool Anyone own a metal cutting circular saw?

I recently bought this Bosch 5-3/8" cordless one. Haven't used it much but it cuts this 4mm thick sheet steel very easily. I have a separate blade for aluminum but haven't used that yet. CA-AB It pays to shop around.

I think the DTE oil may be overkill for my lathe but it is what is recommended in the user manual. Since a 5 gallon pail of ISO 68 hydraulic oil is $90 these days at PA I'm ok with spending an extra $40 for the peace of mind of knowing this oil will protect the machine fully. I change the oil...

CA-AB It pays to shop around.

I needed a 5 gallon pail of Mobil DTE Heavy Medium and called around to some vendors I've dealt with in the past. Grainger Canada quoted $319, Motion Industries quoted $264 and Bluewater Lubricants quoted $128.
